HI ERRBODY! I’m The Hun, also known as Jessica Reeder. I’ve been blogging since 2005, originally on creativity (I blogged for Burning Man that year), but now on sustainability, DIY and whatever else I feel like. I run LoveandTrash.com. And I think you are all super.

SO! I am renaissance-ing a bit. Graduation is around the corner which means that, for the first time in my life, I’ll be able set my own schedule and live -EXACTLY- the life I promote. SO! In the spirit of a true re-birth, I want to hear what you all have to say about personal-thesises (thesi?) and how you go about approaching a new stage in your life. These past few weeks have been huge for me, landing a number of large projects (with appropriately large pay) So I’m ready to take a new more focused message to the people!

Congrats! That all sounds great! Could you elaborate on personal thesi? What does this mean? I am about to approach a new stage of my life as well, as I have recently made the decision to quit my job early and spend my time on a farm/homestead. Thus my message will probably consist more of homestead stories.

Wow. What a difference a few moments make. I sat down to briefly (or so I thought) clean out my Twitter stream but then I came across a new follower – @Changeblogger – that I didn’t recognize. Or I should say, I didn’t recognize the name because the face was very familiar to me. I’ve been (quietly) following Raam on Twitter and his blog for a couple of months now and of course have been so inspired by the words and ideas shared there. But the name changblogger intrigued me and I clicked over to find all of you lovely change agents here! I started to read and lurk a bit and I almost left without saying anything, but something just wouldn’t let me. So here goes:

My name is Tisha and I’ve been on this blogging/business journey for about a year and a half. I happened upon it kind of accidentally. A couple of years ago, I became a stay-at-home mom and as much as it was a conscious decision, I had to admit that our family’s financial belt was becoming a little too tight. So I began a series of work at home jobs (mystery-shopper, online customer service agent, editor) that allowed me to stay at home but still contribute to the household income. But the jobs were unfulfilling and I longed for more…so I enrolled in a 18-month course to get certified as a hypnotherapist – with the idea that I could see clients in a home office I had set up. It seemed the perfect solution: a way to stay at home with my kids, make money AND feel like I was doing important work. Only…getting clients proved harder than I thought it would be, especially when I factored in trying to coordinate reliable babysitting with my erractictically scheduled sessions. So I went online on the suggestion of a friend and fellow hypnotherapist who had had some success with promoting hypnosis phone sessions on Facebook and her blog.
And the rest, as they say, is history. In my case though, it was hypnotherapy that became history because I fell so much in love (again) with writing and blogging that I wanted to learn how to make a business out of THAT. My first blog, Biz Mommy, capitalized on the whole mommy-blogging thing and although it was fun for a while, again I wanted more fulfilment. So I started my minimalist blog ”What Matters Right Now”. I loved writing about my ideals and journey towards learning how to live with less but I had a hard time trying to figure out how to monetize that topic – and remember, the whole reason this journey started was because I needed to earn extra money for my family. I had already been approached and hired by several companies to do some writing for them, so after a bit of waffling (and an eerie coincidental(?) crash of my blog and subsequent loss of data) I regrouped and decided for right now to keep my blogging about creating a business and earning money, which is where I am now with my current blog, http://tMediaCompany.com
When my kids are old enough that they’re both in school for a full day, I’d love to start writing on inspirational topics again, but it seems in the meantime, this forum can be a great outlet for those passions for me. Even if it’s just reading and admiring from afar. Because of my full plate right now, realistically, my involvement will probably be sporadic at best, but just knowing you amazing people are here is making my world happier!

(sorry for this long-winded intro. – I didn’t realize when I started it would go on for so long) ;-)

Welcome, Tisha, and thank you for the intro! It definitely gave me a very good idea where you’re coming from and why you’re here. :)

I love that you’re following your heart and going with what feels right despite having so much of your time dedicated to other things that matter equally as much. I can definitely learn from that!

        Hi Raam,
Thanks for the warm welcome! I know I can be a bit long-winded at times (I tend to write like I talk), but given my current blog, I did think my presence here would seem weird without some back-story. Anyway, thanks for your message and I look forward to reading along and hopefully contributing at some point.

My new site is coming up soon. I plan on launching it this upcoming monday. http://www.BardicLife.com It will focus on fiction and specifically fantasy writing.
I’ll post again here when the site is actually ready to be reviewed!

That’s so cool. I love fantasy, well specifically, I love Tolkien and that’s about it as I don’t read much. But as a kid that’s all I read (along with Asterix). i love the fact you’re writing on the web – if nothing else you’re guaranteed not to loose your writing that way (the only stuff I haven’t lost is the few chapters I put on a blog for it: http://lightwithoutshadow.wordpress.com/ ).

Oh, as a caveat: none of the posts currently up are going to stay. They’re all just random snipits of writing that I used as place holders.

They felt pretty random. Looking forward to more.

    Dear Sirs and Ma’ams
Hey, Dan Zubrzycki is my name (Zoo Brick E). I have two blogs: http://www.breakthewallsnow.com was originally a site I devoted to minimalism but I’ve now branched off into discussing expansive living and challenging the status quo. Perhaps a bit broad at the moment but it will focus again soon.
I have another blog which will discuss fantasy and fiction writing, analyzing others, previewing my own work and reviewing/interviewing other indie writers.
This summer begins my nomadic life and I can’t wait to see it get started.

    Hi everyone!

What a cool community you are forming here. I’m so glad to be a part of it.

If you don’t know me… I’m finishing up my senior year at Messiah College. I write about minimalism but I don’t define myself by the topic– it’s just a tool I use to make more room in my life for the things that matter most.

Oh yeah, I’m getting married on June 25th to my best friend — Mollie :) We met on the cross-country team at college.
